This farm is situated in the Thirukkovil area. Fresh vegetables and fruit are in short supply for the large population that live here and there is a demand for more milk production on a small household basis? therefore a need for a mixed farm.A tentative start has been made with the distribution of small grants to people to set up broiler and laying chickens on there own private land. Negotiations are being made to purchase suitable land to develop as a small cooperative organic mixed farm.
The land initially will be leased to the cooperative until such time as they are in a position to buy it out.
