Boys' Home
The boys' home caters for the very poorest of the poor, who have lost one or both of theirparents or whose home is so impoverished they can’t accommodate them. The home currently has 65 boys. The boys have a big input into the way things are organised and meet regularly with staff to discuss way to improve their life in the home. We are trying to improve the recreational area, employ more staff and maintain a high standard of care. In the short term we need to raise money to pay salaries until such time as the activities surrounding the project can make the whole enterprise more self supporting.Requirement:

Girls’ Home
Currently there is no girls’ home so we wish to provide care of approximately 30 girls. It will be run on similar lines to the boys’ home in principle with obvious changes to suit girls. At present girls are living in unsuitable surrounding or in a girls’ home a long way from where they live and seldom see there parents. It is already the practice in the boys’ home that we invite parents to participate and visit as frequently as they can, and this will be encouraged in the girls’ home.Requirement:

Restoration of a grave yard
The two grave yards in Thirukkovil were badly damaged by the tsunami with tomb stones and human bones scattered all over the surface of the ground. As you can imagine this is a very delicate topic but if we can get a team of helpers together we will discuss sympathetically how they wish there grave yard to be restored. We know that they are very unhappy about the state it is in.Return to the
